Michael Tippett
2005 sees the centenary of the birth of composer Sir Michael Tippett who was born in January 1905 and died in 1998. Paul Kildea, Musical Director of the Wigmore Hall and Norman Lebrecht join Mark Lawson to discuss how Tippett's politics shaped his music.
The Wigmore Hall in London is holding a Tippett Centenary Festival from 2-9 January, the English National Opera is performing A Child of our Time from 21-28 January and there will be other Tippett events throughout the year
