Profile: Stela Marija Matone
Filmmaker Stela looked at the lives of buskers in London.
Why did you pick this subject for Fresh?
It is about young people choosing a different way of life. I was always interested if buskers do it as a hobby or because they simply have no other choice.
Before I do anything, I research first.
What motivated you to make this film?
I wanted people to see that buskers are not beggars and what they do is just a different type of work.
What equipment/software did you use to shoot/edit the film?
JVC GY-HM850E Camcorder. I used iMovie editing software and did all the editing myself.
Who/what inspires you?
BBC documentaries. I watch a lot of documentaries and always wanted to make a documentary myself.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to work in Television production, from program development to the final result.
What is the most important thing you have learned so far?
Research. Before I do anything, I research first. If I have a new idea for a new program, I first ask my friends what they think, then research what audiences like to watch, what are most popular programs and then I can see if my idea is good.
