The time ball that guided Humber mariners

Hull's Guildhall time ball once played a vital role in maritime navigation, dropping at exactly 1pm each day so sailors could set their chronometers. Now restored to working order, the striking golden landmark is helping tell the story of Hull's rich seafaring past. Sally Fairfax has been finding out more from Gill Osgerby from Hull Maritime.
