Could Worcester Warriors be back?

Worcester Warriors announced that the club, which went into administration in 2022, had been formally invited by the Rugby Football Union to consider applying.

Wasps and London Irish have indicated they are keen to return to professional rugby union by bidding for a place in the 2025/26 season.

Sports editor Trevor Owens reports, while the return of the phoenix clubs to the Championship would not be universally popular, they do have support from one of the sport's key figures.
