'Sunday was a miserable day' - Anna Soubry
Shops could be open for longer on Sundays in England and Wales, as the chancellor is expected to announce plans for extended trading hours in Wednesday's budget.
Business Minister Anna Soubry defended the plan, saying Sunday had been "the most miserable day of the week" before shopping was allowed.
"Sunday was a miserable day," she told Today. "The only thing to look forward to was Sing Something Simple on the radio.
"You can still have family life but you can have shopping."
