Digital India and Unofficial National Anthems
How do you listen? We hear from a BBC Hindi listener who catches up using the chat app Line on his smartphone. And listeners play us their unofficial national anthems.
As the New Year marks the beginning of a renewed drive for digital innovation at the World Service, especially in how you receive your news, we’ll be asking how technology is affecting your listening habits. This week we hear from a World Service English and BBC Hindi listener from Sikkim in India who’s been trying out the BBC Hindi service through the instant messaging service Line. He’s been receiving news stories by text, with short videos and audio delivered direct to his smartphone. Rajan Datar speaks to the mobile editor for the BBC World Service, Ramaa Sharma, about mobile listening in India and what new developments listeners worldwide can expect from the BBC in 2015.
