All this week, from Monday to Thursday, Soweto’s guest has been British saxophonist, composer, and educator Denys Baptiste. He’s been sharing some of the records that have influenced him for 4/4. To round off his week, tonight Denys selects an album by a pioneering American jazz trumpeter who had a deep impact on the music, even though his time on earth was short.
