And - in the week that South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo make their BBC Proms debut at the Royal Albert Hall, marking forty years since their stellar contribution to Paul Simon’s era-defining album, Graceland - Soweto’s indigenous afro-psychedelic funk ambassadors BCUC join Lopa to share three tracks that have shaped their musical world. Also, hypnotic vintage sounds from an obscure early cassette release by Soussi Amazigh singer Safia Tachtoukt, and we pay tribute to great Colombian folk music ambassador Totó la Momposina on what would have been her 86th birthday.
