Elizabeth Alker introduces a week of highlights from the BBC Proms, featuring some of the festival's most memorable performances. Today, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of acclaimed conductor Paavo Järvi, performs Scriabin's richly expressive 2nd Symphony.
There is also chamber music from this year's International Sacred Music Festival in Fribourg, featuring music by the 18th-century Venetian composer Galuppi.
