Roses are stealing the spotlight at Longmeadow, and Monty is celebrating all the full, head-turning bloom. From richly scented classics to vibrant modern varieties, this is peak rose season - a chance to see them at their absolute best and solve some common problems.

With planting in full swing across borders and beds, there are annuals and exotics to deal with, and in the veg plot, it’s time to plant lettuce and beetroots.

Ashley Edwards visits Benton End, a place of artistic vision and horticultural legacy, to see a historic collection of bearded irises beloved by Cedric Morris. In Penarth, Sue Kent uncovers a rich mix of gardens, personalities and inspiration.

A cleverly designed city garden in Brighton, packed with personality and planting inspiration, proves that small spaces can deliver big impact. Meanwhile, in Bedfordshire, one gardener has embraced a very different climate – filling his space with striking succulents and sun-loving plants to create a garden with a distinctly exotic edge.
