Fergus McCreadie, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concert

Tonight, Soweto shares performance highlights from pianist Fergus McCreadie and cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson, recorded at Glasgow’s SWG3 venue in the spring. This unique performance was in collaboration with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Enyi Okpara, and merged jazz, folk, & classical tradition and paying homage to the lineage of Scottish jazz.

Fergus McCreadie is a Mercury Prize nominated pianist, composer, and previous 'Round Midnight dep presenter, known for his signature fusions of Scottish folk and jazz. Ayanna Witter-Johnson is an acclaimed cellist, singer and pianist whose music boundaries of classical, jazz, reggae, soul and R&B.

‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
