Pauline Black of The Selecter and Spoony hits the decks for The Good Groove Mix!

Pauline Black of legendary 2-Tone band The Selecter brings another item from from V&A East Museum's The Music Is Black exhibition to life, and Spoony hits the decks for a live mix!

Feelgood dance floor favourites, hidden gems and fresh new tunes to make you groove. DJ Spoony serves up a brilliant selection of soulful house, classic soul, disco, RnB, UK garage, reggae, hip-hop, doo-wop, funk, dance remixes and everything else in-between.

Spoony continues his exploration of V&A East's Museum's The Music is Black exhibition, celebrating 125 years of black British music. This time we are headed to the 2-Tone section where there is a mannequin wearing a suit that belongs to the iconic Pauline Black. The Selecter front woman's suit is just one of the items featured in 'The Music is Black: DJ Spoony's Selection', a special two-hour programme available to listen to on BBC Sounds which also features Level 42's Mark King's bass, Fabio & Grooverider's radio show tapes, Sharon D Clarke on Lover's Rock and many more!

In hour 2 Spoony welcomes the weekend early as he takes to the decks live in the studio for a twenty-minute ‘Good Groove Mix’. Thursday is the new Friday!

Our genial host wraps things up with a ‘Midnight Feast’ track. Think big production, lush orchestration, and the best voices in the business!
