This is an activity he enjoys on holidays in North Wales, on tour with the band - and in his back garden.

The Great Tit and Wheatear are among his choice of natural history recordings from the BBC Sound Archives.

Best known to radio listeners as the host of BBC Radio's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue and The Best of Jazz, Hump is a trumpeter, jazz musician and band leader.
