Central Asian governments are facing pressure from China to clamp down on Uighur demands for their own state. For the eleven million Uighur people who live in China freedom of speech, religion and movement is strictly controlled. But just along the Silk Road, across the border in Kazakhstan, a quarter of a million Uighurs enjoy relative freedom.
