Scotland HAVE made it to the World Cup: the Roller Derby World Cup. Everything you need to know about the brutal sport
31 January 2018
Rolling, rolling, rolling.
From 1-4 February, the Roller Derby World Cup will be live on the BBC.
Scotland, as well as England and Wales, are among the 38 teams taking part in Manchester.
While selection began in 2016, the full 20-player squad was only selected in February 2017.
So what’s the appeal of this full-contact sport?
Mallory Powers, a member of Edinburgh’s Auld Reekie Roller Girls, told The Social about why she’s drawn to it — it’s about having fun, being fit, tackling a challenge and becoming more confident.
