Edwyn Collins to perform at BBC Electric Proms

Five days, eight venues and over 80 artists

The BBC today confirmed that Edwyn Collins will be performing at this year's BBC Electric Proms.

Collins will perform tracks from his forthcoming album Home Again alongside tracks from his back catalogue in the intimate surroundings of Dingwalls in Camden, London on Sunday 28 October 2007, the final evening of the five-day festival.

Those already on this year's bill include Mark Ronson, Paul McCartney, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Ray Davies and Sigur Rós.

Performers at the BBC Electric Proms are challenged to come up with new and original material or arrangements of their music to reflect the central theme of the festival, that of creating new moments in music.

Edwyn said: "I'm back and I'm raring to go! After three years, Dingwalls with the BBC Electric Proms. How exciting to be in my old world again, with my band, my audience and among friends."

Festival Director Lorna Clarke added: "There are a lot of fantastic artists playing at the Electric Proms this year but to have Edwyn performing for us is a real privilege. I think it brings something really special to the whole festival."
