Dawn French chats to Graham Norton

Tonight comedy icon Dawn French takes centre stage when she appears in this week's The Graham Norton Show on BBC Two.

Dawn reveals that she's best mates with Kate Moss: "I love Kate Moss, she's a top girl, fantastic. I've often thought that if Kate and I were side-by-side, I'd love aliens to land and say yes, women come in many shapes and sizes."

On being a complete technophobe: "I've never touched a computer. Lenny [Henry] says by the time I'm ready, you'll just be able to speak to them. I'm writing a book at the moment – with a pencil and paper."

And on being scared of royalty: "I met the Queen Mother once, I was four years old, she came to visit the RAF camp we lived on. She came to see some posh people and then to see some chavs – us ... I was very afraid and showed it, so I got a kick in the back from my mother."

Dawn had to make a pre-nuptial pact with her husband so he would never have to tackle DIY: "Lenny's rubbish in the house. He wanted it written into our marriage vows that he would never do any DIY.

"On that night of the big storm in 1987, we were in the middle of improving our house, we had scaffolding, I was up there lashing it down, heroic lashing going on, and when I came down there was no sign of Lenny, he'd put cotton wool in his ears and gone back to bed."

And there's more chat with Property Ladder's Sarah Beeny.

The Graham Norton Show is a So Television production for BBC Two.
