Cat Deeley on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross

Cat Deeley and Don Johnson chat with Jonathan on the sofa

Cat Deeley reminisces about Ant and Dec and tells Jonathan Ross about conquering American TV when she visits the Friday Night With Jonathan Ross sofa on BBC One tonight.

"It was a great time," Cat says of her days as a children's television presenter.

"At the time we had no idea how much fun it was going to be... three hours of live TV a week, 52-weeks a year for six years... it was pretty much sink or swim.

"There's no better grounding. Now whatever they throw at me, I can cope with."

Cat's top reality US TV show So You Think You Can Dance premieres in the UK this weekend and she is now a regular on the Jay Leno Show.

But she denies she will leave the UK permanently: "Hopefully I can still keep coming backwards and forwards, I wouldn't want to leave the UK completely."

Jonathan also welcomes to the show Don Johnson, best known for Miami Vice, and in the UK to star in Guys And Dolls.

Don says: "I started out in musical comedy but I'm in the terror stage right now."

He also talks about his family - his daughter with Melanie Griffith, Dakota, is 17: "Now there's a challenge, she's going through the lying stage."

And on his younger children: "It's like being a father and grandfather all at the same time. You get more relaxed, you appreciate more."

Jonathan also talks to Jimmy Carr. And there's a double music treat in the form of Tenacious D (Jack Black) as well as Boy George with Amanda Ghost performing live in the studio.

A HotsauceTV/Open Mike production for BBC One.
