Chris Rybczynski, former editor of the One O'Clock News, has been appointed as
editor of a new daily magazine programme on BBC ONE to be piloted later this
year.
The new show, on air for a month later this summer, will be an up-beat,
live, daily magazine programme built around topical features.
It will include
contributions from programme makers across the BBC including Factual and
Learning, Current Affairs and Nations and Regions.
Chris Rybczynski has also previously worked as Deputy Editor of BBC Radio 4's Today, Senior
Programme Editor at GMTV, and News and Programme Editor at ITN.
Tessa Finch, Head of Studio, Factual and Learning,
Birmingham, is overseeing the development of the programme.
She says Of Chris's appointment: "We are
delighted that Chris has joined us to edit this pilot series.
"She has a
brilliant track record in news combined with a natural instinct for mainstream
popular television.
"There's a real appetite among audiences for intelligent and
entertaining programming on pre-watershed BBC ONE and this pilot is a great
opportunity to experiment with new ways of meeting that need in an engaging
way."
