Kate Mordaunt has been appointed Head of Planning and Scheduling for BBC TWO, announced Roly Keating, Controller of BBC TWO.
Kate returns to the channel after nearly two years as Head of Planning and Scheduling for Daytime at the BBC - prior to this she was Schedule Manager on BBC TWO.
Roly Keating said: "Kate combines impressive experience in the competitive world of daytime scheduling with a deep knowledge of BBC TWO from her previous work on the channel.
"It's a real pleasure to welcome her back to lead the channel's outstanding planning and scheduling team."
Kate joined the BBC in 1997 as a Media Planner in BBC Broadcast.
This role included making the most efficient use of the on-air promotional airtime on BBC ONE and BBC TWO and involved working with the scheduling teams on both channels.
In 2000 she became the Schedule Manager for BBC TWO, taking each week to press and deputising for the Head of Planning and Scheduling.
In 2004, Kate became Head of Planning and Scheduling, BBC ONE and BBC TWO Daytime.
She currently works closely with Daytime Controller Jay Hunt, scheduling and planning the daytime schedules across both of the terrestrial channels for up to three years in advance.
Kate will take up her new role in the spring, reporting to Sandy Maeer, Controller of TV Operations.
She replaces George Dixon, who has moved to BBC ONE to become Head of Broadcasting.
