BBC FOUR and Radio 4 win IVCA awards for corporate social responsibility

BBC FOUR has won an IVCA Clarion Award 2005 in the Television Category for "promoting the effective communication of corporate social responsibility and cultural aspiration."

 

Held in London on 7 September, the citation for the award said: "BBC FOUR shows what public service broadcasting can really achieve - innovative programmes of the highest cultural standards. The content is sometimes brilliant, but always unique and thought-provoking."

 

In the Radio category, Radio 4 won for two radio plays written by Richard Monks, One Church.

 

Jury members included Roger Graef, Jane Featherstone, Nicolas Roeg, Jenny Agutter and Michael Billington.

 

The International Visual Communication Association (IVCA) exists to promote effective business and public service communications of the highest ethical and professional standards. It is the largest professional body of its kind in Europe.

 

The IVCA Clarion Awards recognise outstanding, creative and effective communications that promote corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, cultural or social aspiration, social inclusion or responsible debate about key issues. All media platforms are able to enter.
