HARDtalk with Saeb Erekat, senior Palestinian negotiator

This is a schedule change and replaces the previously published programme.

On BBC News 24's HARDtalk tonight, Sarah Montague interviews Saeb Erekat, senior Palestinian negotiator.

Israel has retaliated after the latest suicide attacks in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, bombing the residence of senior Hamas leader Mahmoud Zafar.

With hopes for a peaceful solution seeming further away than ever, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has asked Ahmed Qureia, also known as Abu Ala, to become the new Prime Minister.

But Qureia has said he will only accept if Washington guarantees Israeli compliance with the United States-backed "road map".

Israel has accused the Palestinians of failing to honour their road map commitment to crack down on terrorism.

Saeb Erekat is a senior Palestinian negotiator.

Sarah Montague asks him how the Palestinians plan to curb the suicide attacks, and what hope there is for a lasting peace.
