Newsnight audience challenges Iain Duncan Smith

Iain Duncan Smith will face questions from disaffected Tory voters in a special encounter for BBC Newsnight. The 30 minute session will be broadcast during the programme on Wednesday 5 March 2003 10.30pm, BBC TWO.

To be filmed in Milton Keynes North East, one of the Conservative party's key target seats in the next general election, the debate will be conducted by Kirsty Wark.

She'll be joined by a small audience of former Tory supporters, all of whom live in the area and have not voted for the party since the 1997 General Election.

As speculation about a leadership challenge rumbles on, the audience will seek Iain Duncan Smith's views on the prospect of war with Iraq and will challenge him on his party's plans for the public services.

All the BBC's digital services are now available on Freeview, the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.

Freeview offers the BBC's eight television channels as well as 11 BBC radio networks.
