HARDtalk: Paulo Lukamba "Gato"

On BBC News 24's HARDtalk tonight (Tuesday 11 February 2003), Tim Sebastian interviews Paulo Lukamba "Gato", Secretary General of UNITA.

Twenty-seven years of war came to an end in Angola last year - but how permanent is the peace?

Paulo Lukamba "Gato" heads the UNITA movement, formerly the rebel faction, which now has ministers in the Angolan Government.

How does he look back on the terrible atrocities committed by his forces - and the poverty inflicted on the country? He speaks to Tim Sebastian.

Notes to Editors

HARDtalk is broadcast on BBC News 24, Monday to Friday at 10.30pm, and is repeated Tuesday to Saturday at 2.30am.

All the BBC's digital services are now available on Freeview, the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.
