HARDtalk: Graeme Catto

On BBC News 24's HARDtalk tonight (Monday 10 February 2003), Tim Sebastian interviews Graeme Catto, President of the General Medical Council.

The General Medical Council in Britain is supposed to protect the public from negligent and criminal doctors. But the GMC is under attack.

There has been a rash of medical scandals involving abuse, incompetence and serial murder.

Graeme Catto is the President of the GMC. Tim Sebastian asks him what he can do to restore public trust and persuade them that the GMC is up to the job.

Notes to Editors

HARDtalk is broadcast on BBC News 24, Monday to Friday at 10.30pm, and is repeated Tuesday to Saturday at 2.30am.
