HARDtalk: Jeffrey Sachs

On BBC News 24's HARDtalk tonight (Wednesday 22 January 2003), Tim Sebastian interviews Jeffrey Sachs, economist.

It takes a brave person to make forecasts about the global economy over the next year but Jeffrey Sachs is known as someone who is prepared to do so.

He has acted as an economic adviser to countries all over the world, including a turbulent time in Moscow as Russia lurched towards capitalism.

He now assists the United Nations, campaigning on behalf of the poor and the sick.

He talks to Tim Sebastian about the prospects for 2003.

Notes to Editors

HARDtalk is broadcast on BBC News 24, Monday to Friday at 10.30pm, and is repeated Tuesday to Saturday at 2.30am.
