 Don't
slip through the net - take
your chance to be a presenter in the digital age
The BBC is offering five individuals the chance to become dedicated
interactive presenters working on some of the most innovative programmes
on the world wide web.
The BBC's unique initiative, BBC Talent, wants to find the interactive
presenters of the future.
On
offer are five six-month contracts to be given to the entrants who
impress the BBC's experienced judges the most.
If you think you can help bring the digital age alive and communicate
to all age groups and audiences via the net, and are a user of interactive
services, text messages, chat rooms and forums, then you could soon
find yourself reporting from the latest blockbuster premiere or
the hottest gig in town.
If
you have enthusiasm, energy, commitment, charisma, and an inquiring
mind, then visit the Virgin Megastore in Cardiff this weekend
to record your own audition and email it back to the BBC.
A
top team of BBC producers will be on hand to guide you though the
online audition system.
Drop
into the store between noon and 5.00pm on Sunday (21 July) and 10.00am
and 6.00pm on Monday and Tuesday.
The
selected presenters will become the new faces of BBCi. They will
help users navigate and access content across all platforms, as
well as helping demystify all the technology and jargon.
They
will do everything from facilitating live chats on the web, to acting
as a reporter for the BBC's entertainment site.
But,
perhaps most importantly, the selected candidates will help define
the role of BBCi presenter - from now, well into the future.
Angie
Stephenson, BBC Talent Executive, says: "This is a great chance
for people to get involved right at the heart of the digital revolution.
"There
is no doubt that people need special skills to be a web broadcaster
and hopefully with these type of auditions, we can find some of
Britains brightest and best new stars."
So if you are over 18, can talk into a camera with confidence, explain
the unexplainable with clarity and passion and have a burning desire
to see yourself on PC's all over the world, then record a short
audition tape and see if the BBC pick you to become one of their
cyber celebrities.
