BBC News Online race relations poll - results from second part of survey

The second raft of results of a major survey on race relations, commissioned by BBC News Online, is released today (Monday 27 May 2002).

The ICM poll, part of a major BBC News Online series on race relations in the UK, is one of the largest surveys on race conducted in recent years.

It was conducted by ICM on behalf of the BBC between 7 and 11 May 2002. ICM interviewed a quota sample of 1,576 adults aged 18 plus.

Quotas were imposed to ensure that at least 500 interviews were conducted with respondents from white, black and Asian ethnic backgrounds. The data was weighted to the profile of all adults.

The second part of the survey examines views on the police, the judicial process and politics. If any material is used it must be credited to BBC News Online.
