The F.A. Cup Classic

Live concert in CRFC Cardiff Arms Park on 3 May 2002 at 7.30pm, broadcast on BBC ONE at 10.35pm


Russell Watson, Faye Tozer (formerly of Steps), Lesley Garrett, Willard White, Bond and other stars team up with presenters Stephanie Hughes and Steve Rider for a one-off spectacular concert, sponsored by AXA, which kicks off The F.A. Cup Final weekend in Cardiff. The concert will be broadcast on BBC ONE.


Thousands will share in the excitement of The AXA sponsored F.A. Cup at a concert which captures the spirit of competition in an unforgettable live performance for all the family. Stars from the worlds of classical and pop music will join an audience of approximately 15,000 people in the exciting outdoor atmosphere of the CRFC Cardiff Arms Park, together with viewers at home, for a fantastic evening’s entertainment. No strangers to presenting music and sports events on a grand scale, BBC’s Stephanie Hughes hosts the evening alongside Steve Rider.


The full line-up is still to be announced but already includes the soprano Lesley Garrett, tenor Russell Watson in a duet with Faye Tozer (formerly of Steps) and Bond plus the amazing voice of baritone Willard White.
