BBC brings programmes to iTunes Store in Germany

BBC Worldwide announced today that a selection of programming will now be available for purchase and download from the iTunes Store in Germany (www.iTunes.de).

Starting today, iTunes customers in Germany can purchase single episodes and complete series of programmes such as Dragons Alive, How to Build a Human, Massive Nature, The Planets and The Human Face.

BBC Worldwide will make the majority of content available in both German and English.

The BBC was the first British broadcaster to offer television programmes on iTunes in the UK and is now the first to offer the same service to iTunes customers in Germany.

German audiences will now be able to view their favourite BBC programming via iTunes, for Euro 1.99 per episode, on a Mac or PC, iPod with video, iPhone or widescreen TV with Apple TV.

Isabelle Helle, Managing Director of BBC Worldwide Germany, commented: "German audiences will now have more options on how they view the fantastic range of BBC content and in the future we are also planning to offer programmes that have never aired before on German TV."

Making BBC programming available on the iTunes Store is key to BBC Worldwide's stated objective to secure the broadest possible distribution for its huge range of television content.
