BBC Worldwide Global TV Sales appoints SVP EMEA

BBC Worldwide has appointed Tim Mutimer to the newly created role of Senior Vice President Global TV Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Currently Director of Sales at Granada International, Mutimer will be responsible for BBC Worldwide's Global TV Sales business for all rights windows in the region, including television, digital platforms and DVD.

The appointment marks another step in the strengthening of  Global TV Sales' senior team as it moves into an ambitious new growth phase.

Mutimer joins other recent senior appointments including Joyce Yeung, SVP Asia, and Paul Telegdy, EVP Americas.

Announcing the appointment, Steve Macallister, MD Global TV Sales, said: "EMEA is the cornerstone of our distribution business and critical to our global growth, with many long standing relationships across the region in programme sales, format sales and co production.

"Tim brings with him a very impressive track record of driving distribution business around the world, and it’s fantastic to have him join BBC Worldwide to lead our EMEA sales team."

Tim Mutimer added: "I am looking forward to joining BBCWW at such an exciting time. The fast changing media landscape offers incredible opportunities for the breadth of programming available within the BBCWW library and I look forward to working with the EMEA team to further develop our business in these key markets."

Mutimer has been at Granada International for the past eight years, leading up to his current role as Director of Sales for its global sales business. Previously he held other international television and publishing sales roles with Scottish Media Group International and Routledge.

Mutimer will oversee the EMEA sales force of 65 staff with bases in London, Paris and Cologne. He will report directly into Steve Macallister and will join BBC Worldwide this summer.
