CBeebies invites Polish preschoolers to go In the Night Garden

BBC Worldwide's Global Channels business today announced the acquisition of BAFTA award-winning series In the Night Garden, which will premiere exclusively on pre-school channel, CBeebies, in Poland.

In the Night Garden is the new landmark series from Ragdoll Productions, the creators of the Teletubbies.

The series is a magical exploration of a picture book world that exists between waking and sleeping in a child's imagination.

Words, rhymes and music envelop the viewer during their visit to a happy world of loveable characters such as the energetic and adventurous Igglepiggle, happy and lively Upsy Daisy and caring Makka Pakka.

Filmed in a real woodland setting in High Definition, the adventures of this colourful and cheerful community have captured the imagination of children the world over.

John Taite, BBC Worldwide's Director of Programming, Global Channels-EMEA said: "In the Night Garden is the most imaginative and enchanting children's series you'll see this year, or in fact any year.

"We're delighted the show is joining our global CBeebies family and we know our Polish viewers will adore the magical world of Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and MakkaPakka as much as we do!"

In the Night Garden will premiere on CBeebies in Poland from 21.04.2008.

To celebrate the new series, the channel will show the first four episodes back-to-back from 6-10 a.m. that day, repeated at 2-6 p.m. Further episode premieres air at 8.15 a.m. daily.

In the Night Garden is produced by Ragdoll Productions.
