India, Mexico and Egypt are just some of the destinations in Escape To… BBC Library Sales new series of short programming that takes viewers to far-flung shores around the globe.
The series of 20 x 3 minute programmes uses the best travel and locations footage from the extensive BBC archive. Each programme is supported by evocative, specially composed music and short captions, giving a real 'sense of place' for these varied destinations.
From the outback of Australia, to the bright lights of Japan and the calypso sound of the Caribbean, the series also uses a multi-screen format to enhance the feeling of time and place.
Launching officially at Mip TV in Cannes, the series has already been pre-sold to Sogecable in Spain for its Viajar channel.
Commenting on the series Paul Maidment, Sales and Marketing Director, BBC Worldwide said, "These delightful vignettes provide perfect schedule fillers for broadcasters. The series is also ideal for in-flight viewing and for new media such as mobile phones, Internet and interactive television."
