Food to appear on TDC WishChannel
BBC
Food, Denmark's only gourmet food channel, will appear on the leading
Danish cable network, TDC, in September. This follows only three
months after BBC Food's digital satellite launch into Denmark and
across the Nordic region in June 2003.
TDC
will broadcast BBC Food on its monthly WishChannel every day in
September from 06:00 to 18:00, reaching a potential 800,000 subscribers
daily. BBC Worldwide anticipates that this represents the first
step towards a long-term carriage deal for BBC Food on the TDC network.
BBC
Worldwide Director of Channels, Wayne Dunsford, said, "TDC
subscribers have for many years shown keen interest in BBC programming
on BBC Prime so this is a great opportunity for them to trial our
newest channel. BBC Food is the only food channel in Denmark and
focuses on celebrity chefs and food programming, both leading entertainment
genres on television today."
A comprehensive
marketing and public relations campaign will accompany BBC Food's
appearance on TDC throughout September with above and below the
line activity in national media and on the TDC infochannel.
