BBC Worldwide to launch Children's and family DVD range

BBC Worldwide is set to further expand its presence in the growing DVD market when it launches a range of pre-school, pre-teen and family DVD titles on 30 June 2003.

Titles featured in the range will include CBeebies pre-school favourites Teletubbies, Tweenies, Fimbles and Andy Pandy and popular CBBC pre-teen programmes Ace Lightning and Cavegirl. The range will also include a special edition of Wallace and Gromit - "Three Cracking Adventures". All titles will have an RRP of £12.99 and will include a range of extra features such as games, interviews, footage, sing-alongs and music.
Mark Johnstone, Director of Children's and Learning, BBC Worldwide comments,
"BBC Worldwide's standing as a leading publisher of children's video, books, magazines, multimedia and audio is well established. With DVD penetration of UK households at 25% and BBC Worldwide's consumer DVD business making above market average year-on-year gains of 184%, we see a great opportunity for our popular children's properties."

Recently, BBC Worldwide was awarded 'Best Children's Programme on DVD' in the DVD Awards 2002 for its Tweenies Colours are Magic title, voted for by readers of the Mirror newspaper.
The BBC Worldwide children's DVD range will be distributed through all good retailers
