Eatings - Festive BBC Good Food Show to launch next year
BBC
Haymarket Exhibitions Ltd - the joint venture between BBC Magazines
and Haymarket Exhibitions - is to launch the Festive BBC Good Food
Show in London next year, following the runaway success of Birmingham's
long-running BBC Good Food Show.
The
new show will take place in London's Earls Court from the 5-7th
December 2003 - the week following the BBC Good Food Show, Birmingham.
The
Festive BBC Good Food Show will be timed to capitalise on the important
pre-Christmas market. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste,
shop and come face to face with celebrity chefs. It will also showcase
a number of exciting features including; The 12 Chefs of Christmas
Celebrity Theatre, The Festive Wine Tasting Theatre and The Seasonal
Gourmet Market.
The
Festive BBC Good Food Show was announced to exhibitors at the BBC
Good Food Show in Birmingham and received a phenomenal response.
Laura Biggs, Show Director comments: "Forty percent of the
space has been reserved in just seven days, by companies ranging
form speciality producers to big names - we are delighted with the
early response."
There
is huge demand for a show dedicated to food and drink that is accessible
to visitors from and around London. Christine Greenwood from Pernod
Ricard comments: "The Festive BBC Good Food Show will give
us the perfect opportunity to reach many more people with this proven
show format. Pernod Ricard firmly believe that this will provide
us with the perfect opportunity to sample our products to the all
important South England audience."
Says
Peter Phippen, Managing Director of BBC Magazines and Chairman of
BBC Haymarket Exhibitions: "I'm already looking forward to
Christmas 2003 and our first Festive BBC Good Food Show. It's the
right time to hold such an event and very exciting that from next
year we will be indulging the nation's passion for food and drink
at Earls Court in London as well as the NEC in Birmingham."
The
Festive BBC Good Food Show will be organised by Consumer Exhibitions
who are responsible, on behalf of BBC Haymarket Exhibitions, for
organising the Birmingham BBC Good Food Show, which ended earlier
this month. This year's was the biggest ever - 20% bigger in terms
of size and, according to estimates, the numbers of visitors. Fifty
percent of the floor space at next year's show has already been
booked.
Note
to Editors:
BBC Haymarket Exhibitions, a joint venture between BBC Magazines

visitors (subject to audit) this year, exceeding last year's total
of 115,000.
