05.11.02 Cooking
up Christmas with BBC Good Food

The
keenly awaited Christmas edition of BBC Good Food magazine - expected
to sell over half a million copies - goes on sale on 13 November.
On the same day, BBC Magazines will again also be publishing a one-shot
BBC Good Food Vegetarian Christmas.
The
bumper Christmas issue of BBC Good Food is a magazine publishing
phenomenon - its circulation exceeded at BBC Magazines only by the
Christmas Radio Times. Sales of 65,000 for the first BBC Good Food
Vegetarian Christmas last year meant that even more people cooked
up Christmas with the help of the UKs favourite food magazine
brand and this success looks set to be repeated for both titles
this year.
Priced,
£2.30, the Christmas BBC Good Food comes with a free calendar
sponsored by Sacla, countdown wallchart and money off vouchers for
Christmas drinks. It includes the ultimate Christmas feast from
the Good Food kitchen, along with the best Christmas cakes, puddings,
mince pies and other treats in the shops, brilliant ideas for special
diets and tips from experts such as Gary Rhodes and Nigella Lawson.
BBC
Good Food Vegetarian Christmas, priced £2.50, offers more
than 80 tried and trusted recipes and is packed with ideas from
top chefs such as Jamie Oliver. It promises everything readers need
for a vegetarian Christmas, including easy starters and glamorous
new deserts. The magazine has secured an exclusive sponsorship package
with Quorn.
Both
titles will be supported by point of sale activity.
Says
Editor Orlando Murrin: For many - particularly those who dont
cook very often - Christmas presents a real challenge. BBC Good
Food magazine offers practical help and inspiration, as well as
providing a mouth-watering treat. Im delighted that, after
winning so many fans last year, were again publishing BBC
Good Food Vegetarian Christmas - essential not just for vegetarians
themselves but also anyone faced with feeding non meat-eaters as
part of the festivities.
Notes
to Editors:
BBC Good Food magazine is the UKs best-selling food magazine
with a circulation of 323,764 - up over each of the last four ABC
periods.
BBC
Good Food magazine and BBC Good Food Vegetarian Christmas are published
by BBC Magazines - a division of BBC Worldwide Ltd, the main commercial
arm of the BBC. BBC Worldwide does not use licence fee income for
its activities and re-invests in public service programming. In
2001/2002 BBC Worldwide returned £106 million to the BBC.
