Top Dogs Travel Down Under with BBC Worldwide


The Hound of the Baskervilles, the forthcoming BBC period drama, will screen in Australia following BBC Worldwide's significant new deal with public broadcaster ABC.


The drama, starring Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge), Ian Hart (Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone) and Richard E Grant (Withnail and I, Gosford Park) is part of a major programming package licensed by the broadcaster across all genres. Further drama programming includes Spooks, Rescue Me, Cutting It, Man & Boy, Dossa & Joe, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Dalziel & Pascoe.


The deal, concluded on the eve of Mipcom 2002 (7-11 October) also includes the landmark natural history series Life of Mammals. From the BBC Wildlife Special strand comes Elephants - Spy in the Herd, and Be a Shark! starring Robo-Shark - the latest technological breakthrough in wildlife filming. Other titles include Michael Palin's latest globetrotting adventure Sahara, Inside Animals, and from the makers of global hit The Human Body, Walking with Cavemen. From BBC Children's, Ace Lightning was an electrifying choice for the ABC.
