Achievements

George, is famous for being the best guitarist in The Beatles.

Always in the shadow of Beatles bandmates John Lennon and Paul McCartney, his contribution to the band was often overlooked.

After The Beatles split up, Harrison became the first ex-band member to have a solo number one hit when My Sweet Lord reached the top in Britain and America in 1971.

Additional facts

In the 1980s the former Beatle indulged his passion for cinema, helping set up Handmade Films which produced a number of feature films including Monty Python's Life of Brian.
