We
live in a small North Yorkshire village in a cottage dating to about
1880. It was originally the bothy cottage, next to the stables block
attached to a Victorian mansion house.
Our
kitchen was used to shoot the horses when there time had come.
The
house is haunted by two ghosts.
One
we call Fred. He lived and died here some years ago, you can occasionally
see his outline passing along the hall or in the upstairs bedrooms.
We
have given a description of him to one of our oldest villagers and
she came up with a name for him.
The
other is called black beauty, yes we believe it's the ghost of a
horse.
You
can occasionally smell hay and hear the very faint sound of horses
hooves in the kitchen of our house.
Neither
cause us any problems and we have grown accustomed to them sharing
our house with us.
