Brendan Holland - Jan '08
My name is Brendan Holland and I was born and reared in Ackinduff
(as it is now known) and still live in the parish of Killeeshil.
My late parents are buried in the same cemetry as the Doyle
family. John Doran who is referred to in the above article
died a couple of years ago. Before his death he assisted
me in researching a short history of the parish of Killeeshi,
which I wrote to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening
of the Altar Glen in Ackinduff. If you have ancestors from
Ackinduff/Ahahginduff please feel free to contact me by email
and I will provide whatever information I can.

Ackinduff, is in a parish called Killeeshill. I grew up in
Ackinduff Park as a child and then moved about a mile away.
There were Doyles who lived beside us Mary and Mick Doyle,
I'm not sure if they are the same ones though. John Doran
and Plunkett Doran still live on Ackinduff Road.
I'm wondering if the little girl's last name was Hughes?

I live in Cabragh Co. Tyrone and Ackinduff, as it is locally
known, is one townland there. At present there are several
Doyle families still living in the area and I just wondered
if the lady above was in touch with any of them as I would
be happy to pass her details on to them.
