One can not imagine what it was likefor the 101th and 82nd on
that Day. The men of these divisions and all those who landed
on the Beach on June 6 are our true Heroes, lets never forget
them
I landed on Omaha on August 7th l944.

Unless you were part of any of this, including myself, no
ones knows what it must have been like and what they went
through.

Very good website! There's a documentary getting ready to
come out in about 6 months: www.motherofnormandy.com
. Please watch the video/trailer. My website: www.ww2dday.com

This is a marvelous article. It was of particular meaning
to me, having just spent a week in Normandy with two college
friends and visiting all of the sites. We were fortunate to
have had the company of Andre Heintz for two days, some fifty
years after Mollie attended his class at the University of
Caen. He is an extremely interesting man and is passionate
to this day about the history and events that took place at
these sites sixty years ago. I just hope that articles like
this are kept in front of the American people in order to
instill or remind us all of the sacrifices that were made
for the freedom we now enjoy. Being a veteran, I was asked
to take part in the flag lowering ceremony at the U. S. Cemetary
above Omaha Beach, a singular honor. As we folded the flag,
I was unable to stop the tears thinking about all those young
men and about what Wally Parr, 6th British Airborne, said.
"They gave up all their tomorrows for our todays".
Never forget!

I believe my father Donald Edward Hornby was in the first
or second wave of the 82nd Airborne, he was a Pathfinder.
He went in on a glider. Does anyone know anything about him?

This is a wonderfully moving piece of work which should be
shared widely. Sometime the Web is full of nonsense and trash,
but when you come across something like this A.V. ... well.
It makes the subscription worth while.

As a cousin of Mollie McConaghy and Austin Lynas I appreciate
being able to follow their contribution to your site. I remember
D Day as a young lad still at school. We were thrilled to
listen to the radio that day, and followed the events with
prayer and anticipation. YPAM has done us all a good turn
by all these memories.
Thank-you.
Samuel L. Reid.
