Marie McStay visits Ghan House in Carlingford for historical intrigue and
gastronomic delights in the form of a medieval banquet,
but winds up in a brawl......in this case the brawl
is a medieval dance reminiscent of a modern day conga
!

Falconry
on the menu at Ghan House |
Northern Period Productions have hosted Georgian and
Medieval Banquets for more than 3 years and Ghan House
in Carlingford is the latest venue to receive a makeover.
Authentic costumes, Broad sword fighting, falcons,
story telling, medieval dancing, jesters, jugglers and
a delicious array of mouth watering food from the 13th
century ( not literally ) completes the "living
history " makeover : -
A basket of fishes, Carlingford mussels, venison, a
suckling pig, sweet meats, puddings, ales and wines,
all served on your individual 'trencher' - a plate made
of bread to soak up all the tasty juices from the banquet.

The
chef multi-tasks for more medieval entertainment |
Derek Watson of Northern Period Productions reveals
the historical aspect of holding the banquet at Carlingford
and sets the scene for what the guests can expect as
they take their seats for a trip back to the early 1200's,
as Hugh de Lacy, Earl of Ulster celebrates his Earldom
in style.....
