A fleeting apparition
|
|
In response to Biran Willis's article "A
Ballycastle Apparition":
Russell has written to say:
There has
been more than one sighting of this apparition in the past but there are
not many
places
that
people 'log
into'
to
talk about
it.
Me
and
my
family
were biking through to Ballycastle and decided to stop on the side of the
road for a break and, in the mist of the early morning, there was a sound
that I
still to this day cannot explain or describe. The sound would make a grown
man’s blood run cold. I turned to my right and in the distance there
was a dark figure standing there, but it wasnt really standing as it was
floating. I looked away for a split moment and looked back and it was still
there. I
felt a scence of of loathing and despair come over me. There it stood and
I could not move for a moment and couldnt even speak. Then it was gone.
Later I thought about it and wasn't sure what had happened but since that time,
I dont stop there or ride my bike there any longer.
Some people say that ghosts aren’t real
but take the road to ballycastle early in the
morning or late at night and you might see something!
There are places in the world that people can
never leave from, even after death.

I think that it is not a good image, and I can´t
identify what kind of ghost can be that, maybe
if you carry everytime a camera you can photography
another ghost.

Although you do not state which road to Ballycastle
you speak of, I reckon I have travelled most of
them during the times of day you mention and I
have not ever seen or heard anything such as you
describe. Perhaps I am not just as willing to
believe? My life is probably much less exciting
as a result. I now live in the land of The Featherfoot
and have not seen them either.
