interested in staying somewhere different for
the North West 200. On offer we have a magnificent
43 foot luxury yacht which sleeps 7 people from
Thursday noon till Sunday noon which will docked
in Portrush Harbour. Some of the itinerary includes
Bed and breakfast, Pack lunches everyday,2 meals
and soft drinks. Day sail subject to weather.
All this is only £125 per person. Many thanks

Just visited the course, during a business trip.
What a spectacle it must be, what is the date
for the 2006 event? Must come to see it.

If you have Sky satellite in the UK you can get
coverage (not live) on UTV (Ulster Television). You
can tune in this channel manually, transponder
54 frequency 10906V.If you have trouble I suggest
you search online for tuning details or contact
Sky.They usually show all the races on a Monday
night special show but also news and results on
the Saturday and Sunday news.

Previously a car racing fan, I "discovered"
NW200 on satellite tv and was completely smitten.
Better than just about anything I've seen. I am
now 60 but have decided to follow bike racing
from now on, just been to Superbikes at Oulton
Park. In awaiting dates fro 2006, are there any
tips from anyone for a first-timer to NW200? I
will come by car but will use a mountain bike
to get around perhaps? Thanks

Many years ago the hope was that a lap of 100
miles per hour was the dream when we went to the
NW 200. I was present when Bob McIntyre did it
for the first time ever. Now I imagine that the
whole race is run at over 100 miles per hour or
should I say 165 Kilometers. I live in Canada
now and haven't been to a motorcycle race since
I left Antrim. Only in Ulster you say. Pity.

This really has to be seen to be beleived, i went
last year and promised myself i would return every
year, come rain or shine. the craic is great,
the people are even better and the day after the
night before really shows the men from the boys.
Samantha - May 05
i love it it was perfect but if u could jus put a little more about what
happens in the race but it was a great article and it was really useful for
my homework thank u very much

I haven't seen the N W 200 for a few years now
as I live overseas. Certainly one of the premier
sporting events in the country. I hope to attend
the race next year and would dearly love to meet
an old friend of mine and the N W 200, Laurents
Mackness. A truly great event, long may
it run.
David Morton - July 04
Why is there no BBC TV coverage in NW England
(where I live) of this wonderful event? Come to
that why is there none of the Isle of Man. TT
races?
I've just come back from a sailing trip to Portrush
where we took a bus ride via Coleraine and Portstewart
and saw the circuit. I'm now (age 62) determined
to see the race live. It should be promoted and
supported by the BBC, our "Public Service
Broadcaster", as Ulster's biggest and most
dramatic sporting event.
Karen Martin
David Morton, I have and answer for you if you
are still interested. List e-mail and I will respond.
