Want to make a short film? Have you got an idea for a story? Screen East is looking for budding film makers from the East of England to make a short film.

Do you fancy yourself as the next Ridley Scott or Mike Leigh? Are you buzzing with ideas? Screen East, the screen agency for the east of England is looking for people to make short films as part of the initiative, Digital Shorts.

Digital Shorts is a UK-wide campaign to find and develop new and upcoming screenwriting and directing talent and enable them to make innovative short films using digital technology.

For the fourth year running, Screen East is commissioning up to 13 short films, to be shot or originated digitally, which will be shown on the big screen.

They are looking for writers, directors and producers to make a short digital film, working with professional cast and crews, to produce great new and ground-breaking films.

"We are looking for talented film makers, with passion, vision, originality and commitment," said Sheryl Crown, Screen East's head of production.

"A desire to explore the creative potential of digital storytelling is essential. Show us your skills and digital shorts will show you the stars!" she added.

The scheme teams the UK Film Council New Cinema Fund with regional partners across the UK and is open to people living or working full time in East Anglia.

For further information call 01603 776922. The application deadline is on Friday 22 July 2005.
