A landmine. A deserting WW2 soldier. This is no ordinary comedy.

Director: Rob Brown

Age: 23

Brief Biography: Young filmmaker directing award winning (or at least nominated!) short films.

What's the best aspect of directing films: Directing actors and composing shots.

And the worst: That you never have quite as much time as you need to achieve what is in your imagination.

How did you get into film making? I started watching films like Taxi Driver and Eraserhead on Channel 4 in the early hours of the morning when I was about 14. It switched me onto the fact that film could be more than just entertainment and also meant I didn’t bother going to school much in the last two years. I just spent my time watching films and learning how they were made instead. Probably the best education I could have had.

Budget for S*** Happens: £150

Top tip for film making: Take action. Don’t wait for the circumstances to be right, they probably never will be. If you have an idea you believe in then take action to make that film and get it seen. Too many people talk about making films. Don’t be one of them. Get a great script, talented actors and a camera. Then make your film. Then the next one.
