Free cycling workshops will be held across Peterborough between July and November

New and experienced cyclists are being encouraged by a council to take part in free training sessions.

The workshops will be held in three locations across Peterborough between July and November.

They will be open to everyone, from absolute beginners right through to accomplished riders looking to sharpen their skills.

Angus Ellis, a Peterborough city councillor with responsibility for transport, said he was "really pleased" to support the sessions.

"This is a great opportunity to help people and families get active and enjoy cycling with confidence," the Labour councillor added.

The sessions will be funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

They will take place on the following dates:

  • Nene Valley Community Centre: 22 July, 1 August, 12 August, and 15 November
  • Peterborough Lido: 23 July, 2 August, 13 August, and 14 November
  • Central Park: 1 September, 5 September, 27 September, and 5 October

Participants can use their own bike or use one provided by the organisers.
