City lido to close for essential maintenance

A 90-year-old lido will be closed while maintenance work is carried out.

Peterborough Lido, located in Bishop's Road, was opened for the 2026 season on Saturday, 28 March.

However, Vivacity, which manages the site, said it would be closed on Tuesday, 9 and Wednesday, 10 June for "essential maintenance".

It came after the Grade II listed outdoor pool, which has survived several threats of closure, celebrated 90 years with a range of celebrations at the end of May.

On social media, Vivacity said: "If you have booked a session, the Lido team will be in touch to rearrange.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
