Under David Brophy, this BBC Radio 3 Friday Night is Music Night celebrates Britain’s bond with the sea. From Sullivan and Walton to Bax and Britten’s Four Sea Interludes, with Gareth Brynmor John, it blends wit, colour and atmosphere.

Walton’s frenzied Symphony No. 1 sits alongside the contrasting landscape of Vaughan Williams’s Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis, before the world premiere from Composer in Residence, Cassandra Miller.
